Denise Poncher

Denise received her Master of Fine Arts in Photography from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her master’s thesis documentary entitled Betrayal was on the subject of domestic violence and she was provided access to interview and photograph at The Family Shelter Services in Glen Ellyn, IL. Her body of work on Domestic Violence has been exhibited at the Artemisia Gallery in Chicago. For a time, Denise worked in graphic arts, pre-computers, and custom picture framing.  A part of Denise’s career was spent working at the USDA in compliance and the majority with the ATF in compliance and regulation until she retired.  Denise continues her work in photography with street photos, fine art, and hand colored B&W images. Denise finds pleasure spending time with her great-grandson, reading, bookbinding, knitting, and her Corgi.
