WHAT IS ACT? A mindfulness-based behavior therapy focused on emotional flexibility and valued engagement. The core message is to accept the things outside of personal control and commit self to taking actions to improve present situation and increase sense of fulfillment.

In this group, clients will learn to:

*Connect with the present moment

*Accept unpleasant experiences

*Defuse from their thinking

*Be an objective observer of self

*Identify personal values as motivations

*Commit to actions in line with their values

*Allow vulnerability to be present as a way to connect with other human beings
