Thrive’s Victim and Witness Assistance Program helps recent victims or witnesses of violent crime. The trauma of a crime causes an emotional impact with lasting effects such as irritability, problems sleeping and eating, depression, anxiety, flashbacks, and more. These symptoms range in severity and last anywhere from weeks to years
Thrive offers both immediate crime support and extended services to help heal the emotional effects of a crime:
- 24-Hour Emergency Service
Thrive crisis workers provide 24/7 emergency and crisis support for victims and witnesses of violent crime.
- Individual Counseling
Thrive encourages crime victims and witnesses to participate in individual counseling. Our experienced and compassionate counselors will help individuals work through the emotional, personal and social difficulties often experienced after a crime.
- Victim and Witness Resources
Thrive works in conjunction with the Oak Park & River Forest police departments and the Illinois Attorney General. This network will ensure that crime victims and witnesses get the (help that they need) and are never forgotten.

Thrive Counseling Center is conveniently located steps from both the Metra Train Line (Union Pacific West – Marion St. Stop) and the CTA Green Line (Harlem Ave. Stop). Thrive is about one mile north of the 290 Eisenhower expressway (Harlem Ave. exit).
